I’ve been stuffing myself with lots of mooncakes in office lately. All thanks to the bloody brokers / vendors out there. I’ve been doing nothing much since I came back from the hometown trip. So, again, after every trip, as usual, I’ll tell myself I NEED to go back more often.

My Journey Home - 22Sep-25Sep '06
And so I went back to my little humble hometown, Gopeng; 15mins out of Ipoh town. Let me see, basically nothing to do much there... beside the main point; to see my family. I dun even have a proper room that I can feel its mine or comfortable. I reached there on Friday evening around 5pm after like 100 over hour’s journey. Mum cooked dinner that night with special dishes requested by me few days earlier. Brought her to buy 1 single bed frame and mattress; at least I can sleep on it first mah... Opened up my bottle of JD too that night since the collection of alcohol there are like super a lot...i dun know how...must be those left over from all the wedding dinners and my dad’s previous collection. My 2nd brother came back early on Saturday morning. Yeah, now Malaysia banks closed on Saturday too. We had breakfast together. Heng arh...dun have to pay him back any of my previous insurance installments I owe him...since he want to deduct it from the loan I gave him...years ago. Then, I met up with YW, my remaining good friend back at hometown for late morning coffee. Told me about his wife and him difficulty to conceive and stuff like that. She’s finally pregnant and more stable now but it was a super unstable & emotional situation at the first few months. And told me lots of other issues. So, from here, you can see that sometimes when you want something, you can’t get it but those that dun want it...Haiz...anyway, LIFE. Well, this time round, really spent a lot of quality time at home and in a reverse role, nagged and nagged at my parents to ask them to take really good care of their health; or maybe I’m already in this role long time ago... I dun know. At night, my sister came and we went out for dinner at one of the Chinese restaurant. Came back home and decided to give all my nieces and nephews myr50 each; total up to 200 ok....since the bro & sis bought me that dinner which I thought I gonna pay for it initially. Met up with YW again at late night for coffee and more catching up. Had dimsum breakfast and then went on to Carrefour-like supermarket to get stuff for my old folks...like all the home stuff la...and spent myr250 just for that. Never mind, I told myself...just minus from the planned pocket money I want to give them during this trip lor...Came back and had the localize chee-cheong-fun for lunch. More quality time spent at home. Went out to nearby restaurant for dinner before preparing to pack and go back. The couch will be 9.15pm and wonderfully, got another good friend, C will be sending off his friend and such a small world, same place and same bus as mine. So, got someone to talk to during the journey...though we dun really talk as it’s a night bus. And because of this short trip, I dun get the chance to meet C until that departure night; which is also another remaining good fren of mine there. And yeah, landed up, after spending all the expenses, I only gave myr250 to my parents...quite pathetic hor...but of course, the monthly allowance will still be banked in la... OK, that’s about it...I din buy anything back from there at all...no pomelo, no tausiapiah, no horfun, no chicken biscuits, no nothing. It’s a short but fully-utilized trip. And when I reached Beach Rd that early 4plus morning on Monday, for awhile I thought I’m still at M’sia. When we came down from the bus, so many taxi drivers waiting there shouting, ‘You want taxi ?’ repeatedly to fight for attention of the passengers. Reached home at 5am...or izit really my home...I thought I just came out from home !?

Goin on leave...

We had a bloody expensive dinner just now. Nope...not free treat from company but rather subsidized from Byran’s $100 voucher. Yeap, he had this cash voucher for any dining at any Grand Plaza Parkroyal hotel outlets. So, we went to this Si Chuan Dou Hua Chinese Restaurant located at the one at Peninsula Plaza. OK, it’s a set dinner for 4 but we added 1 more portion for the 5th person. It’s actually very simple dishes with I think about 6 courses and the bill came out to be freaking $240+. Fine, that’s before the $100 voucher...but still, bloody expensive leh...Yeah yeah, they’ve that gimmick of the guy pouring the tea from the fancy teapot. Yeah yeah, they’ve a very nice ambience and decorations. Other than that, it’s quite a normal dinner.
Well, going back Gopeng tomorrow early morning. Just the thought of the bus journey make me super sian. I must keep on telling myself, no flight. Must save money. Think about the difference of amount I have to pay.

True Love

The owner & I.
I’m on half day leave today. Need to rush back for the contractor to fix the heater. Fuck, the super kiasu landlady is like so bloody freak-out I’ll ask the contractor to fix the air-cond also. Yeah, my room’s air-cond has not been working for the past few weeks. I dunno izit because it’s spoilt or just need to pump in gas. So, when I brought up the problem, she clarified with me again and again, that, if it’s servicing, I’ll have to bear the charges. She will only handle it if it’s spoilt; and reminded me again, not to ask the contractor to fix it, she’ll arrange for another contractor. Anyway, I got a feeling she just wanna delay the whole thingy. So, I just asked the contractor to take a look to confirm whether it’s spoilt or just need servicing. Yeah, this contractor covers everything. He’s the plumber, fixed the lightings, the heaters and I suspect he’s the kept man of the landlady also. Everything to fix in the house...must be HIM. Well...will find one day to call her about the air-cond...and I really hate to call her...

Weekend...
We actually went to this Spanish restaurant called Streeters last Friday night. It’s at Keong Saik Road. Yeah, it’s kind of sleazy area but they’ve plenty of good nice ambience restaurants there. Anyway, back to this Spanish food we had...it’s really nice and rather cheap. We had the Sangria drinks too. Not bad. We went to Abhijit’s apartment which is not far away to continue drinking. Nowadays, to save money, just go to colleague’s place and self chill-out. But bloody hell, after all the savings, the cab fare cost me $20 that night. Fuck. Then, weekend was like gadget weekend. I bought the earphone with remote control from Apple shop for my IPOD on Saturday after my gyming session. And then, bought again on Sun, a portable hard disk; 100Gb. Pretty good bargain. Anyway, Linus helps me to get it from the COMEX held at Expo. Really need the storage to move all my precious songs, videos & photos over as I’ve a feeling that my current desktop will go down soon...
