Post Holiday Blues...

Ok, people, here’s the updates about my so-so KL trip. Why I say so-so leh, let me tell you...later or rather you’ll know later. Actually, so lazy to pen down the trip because I felt like I’ve been telling many people many times many incidents of the trip. But still, here it goes; that fateful evening… Left office at 6pm to rush down to the airport for the 8.20pm flight. Because of the bloody rain, we took the Millenia Walk - Suntec Underground – City Link – MRT station...with my heavy luggage along the way. Reached terminal 1 at 7plus and we still managed to eat the so called famous airport char-kway-teow. Checked in and bought 2 bottles of wine at the DFS shop. Bloody hell, made me carried all the way from SGP-KL; fine ! Anyhow, by the time we reached KL Westin, it’s already 11pm. But heng arh, when I made the room reservation, I said I need to “reserve” an extra bed but when I reached the check-in counter, I told them that just clx the bed as we need to see the room before we decide to take the extra bed. So the girl actually delete off the charges from the record. However when we checked into the room, seems like they already prepared the extra bed there. So, just take and enjoy first and FYI, the extra bed is MYR80 per-nite. Anyway, we had room-service that night...as in food, not prostitute. But near though...we had hainanese chicken rice and fish & chips...with wine of course. Slept early for the next day cheong. We had high-crass buffet breakfast on Saturday morning. I like that kind of feeling; just do nothing and enjoy the morning air with good breakfast...but a bit ex though; MYR50 plus per person. We then proceeded to recce the area around us...first, walk to Berjaya Times Square; disappointment...nothing much although it’s a bloody huge complex with nice New Yorkie name. We then walked back to Bukit Bintang which is actually just around our hotel area where they have Lot 10 (biggest disappointment) and Sungei Wang. A lot of small small shops and angmoh coffee places though...and surprisingly, Planet Hollywood still around. After 4-5 hours of walking, we went back to hotel to rest to prepare for the night. Took a cab to Chinatown and joined in the bloody crowded night market. Had dinner there with chicken clay pot rice and some side dishes; MYR40++. Also, the famous ais-longan; 1.20 for a small little cup with 3 quarter filled with ice. Anyway, left the place and came back to one of the open-area chill-out place around Bukit Bintang. Also, disappointments with most of the cocktails they dun have because of running out of alcohol and the stocks not yet arrive. Just had the “sex on the beach” and we all went back to hotel. Bought few bottles of Corona from the nearby 7 Eleven to cheong in the hotel room. Both my frens can’t drink too much...so, landed up me finished most of the corona + red wine + white wine. I basically am committing suicide. So, by 2am, I’m vomiting like hell in the toilet while my frens were sleeping like a baby. Minor hangover on Sunday morning...woke up around 11am. Skipped breakfast and we went KLCC. Finally, found somewhere that I really like. Branded stuff from high-end to mid range; still affordable. And it’s big too. Thought of having late lunch at this Chinese restaurant called Madam Kwan but was super long queue. So, decided to try Little Penang; though there’re queue too, but shorter. Left KLCC at 5plus to go back to hotel. Just rest and relax in hotel room till 7 plus and went down to Starhill Gallery for dinner. A super duper nice place with all restaurant having different designs and outlooks. A bit expensive though. We had dinner at this Teochew restaurant. 3 dishes and 2 individual double-boiled soups; MYR200++. But its nice la...cooks in very special and authentic style. After dinner, roamed around the area till 9plus 10. And can you believe it; we went back to hotel at 10 to...do nothing. Yes, I’m speechless too. Dun ask me why !! Packed a little bit and “tai di”cards and mild drinking and that’s about it. I know I know...very boring but...but…I really have nothing to say…Anyway, woke up at 10 on Monday morning to go sun-tanning till 1pm. Final packing and checked out at 2pm. As expected, they din charge us the extra bed but of course if she were to ask me something about it, I would have confess. But still, all in all, the hotel bills came out to be MYR 1500++. Left the bags at the hotel and went to this Chinese restaurant at Sungei Wang which located at the corner for lunch. Supposedly famous for the roasted duck; HongKong style. Hang around Bukit Bintang area and finally settled down at Coffee Bean. Left for airport at 5plus for the 8plus flight. Had the bloody lousy KFC for dinner at the airport. Reached Spore at 9plus and took a cab home. That’s about it...my virgin trip with my colleagues. So, conclusion…not that I want to sound whinny or be a complain king or whatever but few “highlights” of the trip; 1. the hotel is nice, in fact, super nice.
2. these 2 colleagues are not adventurous enuf; ok...maybe not two, but one. 3. the cab drivers are totally cannot be trusted; yes, I known it long time ago. 4. my colleagues like to sleep early....super early. 5. I’m not saying them anything; they’re nice and easy...but just...something are missing ... ok ... maybe not 2, but 1 of them. 6. it’s really rest and relax trip. Eat and shop.
7. I felt so sorry for not meeting my KL frens. It’s so difficult to arrange for a suitable time. But worst is, I’m even too lazy to call them. 8. There’s nothing much to shop; branded stuff is just the same price in Spore.

Overall, we dun talk much at all too...as in heart-to-heart talk besides all the normal nonsense thingy chat...because people wanna sleep early wat !! You know wat I mean...when you go on a trip, you normally dun really follow your daily routine anymore and do funny funny things right ? And normally, after the trip, you will feel closer and understand the person more...because of all the shared activities and late night talks...but I dun really feel it leh...sure, know a little bit of each other habits but that’s about it !! There’re still no strong connection leh...hahaha. Maybe need more trips...Well, I’m not really complaining but just making some comments. They’re nice people and easily accommodating and understanding....but but but...just that little funny habit or rather character of 1 of them...hmmm...well...it’s a rest & relax trip after all...so, like that lor...
